Billy Green (born 1943, Netherlands) is a Dutch-born Australian R&B guitar player, jazz alto saxophonist, and composer. He moved to Australia at the age of 9 and began his musical career in the 1960s as an R&B guitarist, performing in several bands and playing lead guitar for various acts. Green composed the music for the cult film "Stone" (1974). In 1975, he transitioned to jazz alto saxophone and composition, leading original jazz funk, acid jazz, and free jazz bands in Austin, Texas, for a decade. Since 2001, he has resided in Rockland County, New York, where he teaches, composes, and performs solo saxophone three nights a week (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 PM until 1:00 AM) on the 86th floor Observatory Deck of the Empire State Building.
