Billy Jack Wills was a Western swing drummer, bass player, singer, and band leader, best known for writing the lyrics to the song "Faded Love." He was the youngest brother of three siblings. Wills began his career in a band in Tulsa, Oklahoma, during the early 1940s before joining another group for six years. He then led his own band from 1949 or 1950 until 1954, when it was incorporated into The Texas Playboys. Born on February 26, 1926, in Memphis, Hall County, Texas, he passed away on March 2, 1991, in Oklahoma, USA, at the age of 65.
