Birth Control is a German psychedelic rock band that was founded in Berlin in August 1966. They are among the longest-running bands in German rock music. The band was created by members who were previously part of the Berlin-based band "The Earls," which disbanded shortly before. Along with the founding members, additional musicians from the simultaneously split band "The Gents" also joined, including Klaus Orso and Reiner Borchert. In 1969, Birth Control spent three months in Lebanon, and upon their return, they recorded their first single, followed by their debut album. Over the years, the band developed into one of the most influential German rock groups. However, the band came to a sudden halt when their singer died in 1983 due to an electric shock he received during a concert in Switzerland in 1975, leading to a 10-year hiatus. In 1993, Birth Control reunited and continues to perform to this day.
