Bjorn Alkes Kvartett is a Swedish jazz quartet led by bassist Bjorn Alkes, who eventually shifted his focus to piano playing, allowing another member to take over the bass. The quartet's first release was a result of receiving the 'Jazz in Sweden' award in 1973.
