Black Slate is a British reggae band formed in 1972, comprising musicians from England, Jamaica, and Anguilla. During the 1970s, they provided backing for Jamaican singers in the UK and collaborated with various artists. The core line-up from 1974 to 1984 included Keith Drummond on vocals and percussion, Chris Hansen on lead guitar, Desmond Mahoney on drums, Cledwyn Rogers on rhythm guitar, Anthony Brightly on keyboards, and Ras Elroy Baley on bass and percussion.
