Blanche Thomas was a jazz and blues singer born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 15, 1922, or 1924. She passed away in the same city on April 21, 1977. Thomas began her singing career at the old Tick Tock Club in the mid-1930s and gained popularity in various Bourbon Street clubs. Throughout her career, she performed alongside notable musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Al Hirt, Pete Fountain, and "Papa" French. Her performances included appearances at jazz festivals, Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, and the grand opening of the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. In 1967, she toured military bases in Vietnam with Louis Cottrell.
