Bl'ast! is a hardcore band from Santa Cruz, CA, formed in 1983 and associated with the Skate Rock scene. They released their debut album, "The Power Of Expression," in 1986 after recording it three times, but the label's distributor went out of business shortly after its release. The band wrote "It's in My Blood" and signed with SST Records, where the album was released in 1987, featuring the removal of tracks by second guitarist William "Kip" DuVall shortly after recording. SST also reissued "The Power of Expression." In 1989, Bl'ast! released their final album of the initial run, "Take That Manic Ride," before disbanding in the early 1990s due to lineup changes. In 2013, the band began reissuing their back catalog, starting with "Blood!"—a remixed version of "It's in My Blood" that included DuVall's guitar tracks. This was followed by "The Expression of Power" in 2014, a reissue of their debut album that featured an earlier version and the band's first attempt at the record. Original members, vocalist Clifford Dinsmore and guitarist Mike Neider, recruited Nick Oliveri on bass and Joey Castillo on drums for their touring lineup. In 2015, Bl'ast! released their first new recordings since 1989, a 7" entitled "For Those Who've Graced The Fire!"
