Blind Boy Fuller, born Fulton Allen on July 10, 1907 (or 1904) in Wadesboro, North Carolina, was a prominent blues guitarist and vocalist known for his contributions to the Piedmont style. Despite losing his sight due to retinal ulcers, Fuller became one of the most popular blues performers of his era. He was particularly recognized for his distinctive use of the resonator guitar and his lively "hokum" songs, often accompanied by washboard performances from Bull City Red. Fuller's career was tragically cut short when he passed away from kidney failure and other complications on February 13, 1941, in Durham, North Carolina. Following his death, his protégé recorded "The Death of Blind Boy Fuller" and embarked on a brief musical career.
