Blind Faith was an English blues rock supergroup formed in 1968 and disbanded in 1969. The band emerged when guitarist Eric Clapton and organist Steve Winwood found themselves without ongoing projects; Clapton's previous band, Cream, had disbanded, and Winwood had moved on from The Spencer Davis Group and Traffic. The two musicians, who had known each other prior, began to meet and jam together. It was drummer Ginger Baker who took the initiative to form the band after meeting Clapton and Winwood at Clapton's house in Surrey. Soon after, bassist Ric Grech joined the group.
