**Blue China** was a Swiss new wave group founded by Rudi Dietrich in 1981. The band disbanded in 1984 and had an ever-changing lineup, with its most promising and successful iteration featuring studio wizard Voco Fauxpas and renowned drummer Major Kain. Managed by Martin Hess, who later achieved significant success with Stephan Eicher in France, Blue China remained a musician's band and a darling of the critics, but they never managed to break through to the large audience they sought.
