Blue Orchids is a Manchester post-punk group formed in 1979 by Martin Bramah and Una Baines. The band gained prominence in 1981 when they served as the backing band and support act for another artist on a series of UK dates, as well as during a Dutch tour in the spring of 1982. After Bramah and Baines parted ways in 1985, Bramah continued to use the Blue Orchids name for a new band from 1990 to 1995, and then again starting in 2003.
