Bo Hansson (1943–2010) was a Swedish musician and composer best known for his pioneering work in progressive rock and instrumental music. Emerging from Sweden’s 1960s rock scene, he gained international recognition with *Music Inspired by Lord of the Rings* (1970), one of the earliest concept albums based on Tolkien’s work. Blending psychedelic textures, atmospheric keyboards, and folk-infused melodies, Hansson crafted immersive soundscapes that influenced generations of ambient and progressive artists. His later albums, including *Magician’s Hat* and *Attic Thoughts*, further cemented his reputation as a visionary instrumental storyteller.
