Bob Brady & The Con Chords was a blue-eyed soul band formed in Baltimore in 1964. Initially, the group was fronted by George Layfield, with members including guitarist Dennis Zwirlein, bassist Vince Sansone, keyboardist Jim Samuel, trumpeter Lou Patti, saxophonist Dave Wladkowski, and drummer John Drexler. Bob Brady joined the band in early 1965, along with trombonist Larry Sprigg, and Lou Patti was replaced by multi-instrumentalist Tony Constantino. After releasing their third single, "I Love You Baby," the band made changes to their lineup, dismissing Sansone and Drexler in favor of bassist Tommy Thompson and drummer Marty Fisher. The Con Chords played their final show on December 29, 1970. Several members later reunited in a group called PennLucy, while Brady pursued a career with the music consulting firm A.I.R.
