Bob Brady & The Con-Chords were a blue-eyed soul band formed in Baltimore in 1964. The original lineup did not include Brady; it was fronted by George Layfield and featured guitarist Dennis Zwirlein, bassist Vince Sansone, keyboardist Jim Samuel, trumpeter Lou Patti, saxophonist Dave Wladkowski, and drummer John Drexler. Brady joined the band in early 1965, along with trombonist Larry Sprigg, and Lou Patti was replaced by multi-instrumentalist Tony Constantino. After their third single release, "I Love You Baby," the group replaced Sansone and Drexler with bassist Tommy Thompson and drummer Marty Fisher. The band played their final show on December 29, 1970. Several members later reunited in the group PennLucy, while Brady moved on to work for the music consulting firm A.I.R.
