**Bobby Darin** Born on May 14, 1936, in Harlem, New York, Bobby Darin was an American singer, actor, songwriter, and musician. He was a highly intelligent student who dropped out of college to pursue his musical ambitions, adopting the stage name 'Bobby Darin.' He gained fame in the late 1950s with hits like "Splish Splash," "Dream Lover," and the iconic "Mack The Knife." In 1960, he expanded his career into acting and by the early 1970s, he had his own television show. Darin was married from 1960 to 1967 and was recognized for his contributions to music, being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 as a performer and into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1999. He received Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best New Album ("That’s All") in 1959. Despite his success, Darin faced health challenges due to multiple bouts with rheumatic fever in his childhood, which left him with a damaged heart. This ultimately led to his passing at the age of 37 on December 20, 1973, in Los Angeles, California. He is remembered as one of the greatest entertainers, with a significant discography that reflects his talent.
