Bob Kelly was a Texas-born songwriter, bassist, saxophonist, band leader, producer, and studio owner. He was long based in Dallas, where he also worked as a DJ. Kelly is primarily known for his songs "Git It" and "Somebody Help Me," which have been covered by various artists. He founded several music labels and relocated to Las Vegas by the mid-1970s, where he performed with his band. Bob Kelly passed away on February 20, 2024, in Las Vegas, NV.
