Bob McFadden and Dor collaborated in the late 1950s, creating music under the pseudonym "Dor." They began their partnership with the single "The Mummy" in 1959, which featured a B-side titled "The Beat Generation" that parodied the emerging literary community of the same name. McFadden and McKuen later released a full-length album in 1959 called "Songs Our Mummy Taught Us" (Brunswick 54056). There are claims that a band was used for the recording session, but this has not been widely confirmed.
