Bob Porter (June 20, 1940 – April 10, 2021) was an American record producer, discographer, writer, and radio presenter, renowned for his significant contributions to the preservation and reissuing of classic blues and jazz recordings. Born in Wellesley, Massachusetts, he began his career in the 1960s, producing over 200 albums primarily for Prestige Records, where he also wrote liner notes. He later served as a reissue producer for Savoy Records from 1975 to 1980 and worked with Atlantic Records from 1986 to 1991, among other labels. In recognition of his efforts, he was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2009. His meticulous work has been credited with restoring much of the 20th century's most enduring music, ensuring its preservation for future generations.
