Bobby Brown, born Robert Barisford Brown on February 5, 1969, in Roxbury, Massachusetts, is an American R&B singer-songwriter, occasional rapper, and dancer. He gained fame as a member of the pop group New Edition before launching a successful solo career in 1987, marked by a series of Top 10 Billboard hits and a Grammy Award. Brown is recognized as a pioneer of New Jack Swing music, a blend of hip hop and R&B. His second album, "Don't Be Cruel," featured popular tracks such as "My Prerogative." He also starred in the reality show "Being Bobby Brown." Brown was previously married to pop singer Whitney Houston from July 18, 1992, until their separation in October 2006 and subsequent divorce on April 24, 2007. They had a daughter together, and Brown has three sons: Landon Brown, Cassius Brown, and another son whose name is not mentioned, as well as a second daughter, La'Princia Brown. He has a cousin who has achieved success as a vocalist on various club-oriented songs. Brown remarried Alicia Etheredge, who is also his manager, on June 19, 2012. As of 2014, he had rejoined New Edition.
