Bobby Darin was an American singer, actor, songwriter, and musician, born on May 14, 1936, in Harlem, New York, USA. He changed his name from Cassotto to pursue his musical ambitions after dropping out of college. Darin gained fame in the late 1950s with hits like "Splish Splash," "Dream Lover," and the iconic "Mack The Knife." He also ventured into acting in 1960 and had his own television show by the early 1970s. Despite his success, Darin faced health challenges due to multiple bouts with rheumatic fever in his childhood, which left him with a damaged heart. He passed away at the age of 37 on December 20, 1973, in Los Angeles, California. Darin was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1999. He received Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best New Album for "That’s All" in 1959. Revered by Dick Clark as one of the greatest entertainers, Darin left behind a significant discography.
