Bobby Hodge, known as the "Rainbow Ranger," was born on July 16, 1932, and passed away on December 3, 2011. He gained prominence in 1951 while hosting a 30-minute show on WKOW in Madison, Wisconsin. Hodge was also involved in the "Dairyland News" stage shows throughout southern Wisconsin. In addition to his television career, he was a former Grand Ole Opry and Nashville recording artist, recording several records under various labels primarily in Nashville from around 1958 to 1972. During his music career, he achieved regional hits, with some reaching the national charts.
