Bobby Scott was an American musician, bandleader, producer, and songwriter, born on January 29, 1937, in Mount Pleasant, New York. He passed away on November 5, 1990, in New York City due to cancer. A versatile artist, he was a pianist, vibraphonist, and singer, and he could also play the accordion, cello, clarinet, and double bass. As a bandleader, Scott conducted sessions for notable labels such as Verve, ABC-Paramount, Bethlehem, and Musicmasters. Throughout his career, he charted 17 times as a songwriter between 1962 and 2014. He won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition for the song "A Taste Of Honey," which he co-wrote, and he also co-wrote the song "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother." Scott is often associated with a prominent music publisher.
