James "Bobby" R. Smith (April 20, 1931 - October 11, 2012) was an American rhythm and blues/soul producer and label executive from Macon, GA. He was the owner of several labels and a publisher, and he is often credited on labels during the Shelby Singleton era. Smith was known for his contributions to the music industry, particularly in rhythm and blues.
