Bobby Womack was a singer, guitarist, and songwriter born on March 4, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He passed away on June 27, 2014, in Tarzana, California, USA. In the early 1950s, he formed a gospel quintet with his brothers Cecil, Curtis, Friendly, and Harry. After being produced from 1953 onward, they transitioned to secular music and renamed the band. Following the death of Sam Cooke in 1964, Womack embarked on a successful solo career as a songwriter, session guitarist, and recording artist. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009 as a Performer. He was married, although details about his spouse are not provided.
