BOKKA is a Polish band formed in 2013 by three anonymous musicians, aiming to prioritize their sound over their identities. Speculation surrounds the identities of the members, particularly Karolina Kozak and Bogdan Kondracki, a married couple, with the band name potentially derived from their initials. However, the band emphasizes that their creators' identities are ultimately irrelevant. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2013 by Nextpop, received critical acclaim for its blend of synth pop, dream pop, shoegaze, and psychedelic electronica. The first single from the album, "Town of Strangers," was mastered in London by Many Parnell, known for working with artists like Björk and Depeche Mode. The album's artwork features a female figure hiding behind a mirror, and the opening track, "Found Something," introduces the concept of the record, inviting listeners to approach it with a “clean ear.” BOKKA's music is characterized by a mix of synthetic sounds and live instrumentation, with a lead singer whose voice evokes comparisons to Lana Del Rey. The band skillfully merges electronic elements with traditional sounds, drawing comparisons to artists like Monika Brodka. Their second album, "Don’t Kiss and Tell," released in October 2015, was nominated for the Fryderyk 2016 award in the Alternative and Electronic Music category. Their third album, "Life on Planet B," released three years later, shifted focus towards synth pop
