Bokomolech is an alternative rock band formed in 1991 in Athens, Greece. Their name is a misspelling of Ukrainian physiologist Alexander A. Bogomolets, known for his research on life extension. The members initially met at the Polytechnic University while studying architecture. After a period of experimentation and a few live performances in 1992-1993, the band finalized its line-up with singer Dimitris Ioannou, guitarists Kostas Ragousis and Evi Fraggedaki, bassist Lila Katerinaki, and drummer Vlassis Karagiannis, which lasted for a decade. Their debut album, “Xero” (1995), was praised by critics and recognized as one of the best Greek English-language albums of its time. The band quickly gained a reputation for their live shows in the Athenian music scene. They released four more albums through Hitch Hyke: “Insect (songs)” (mini-LP, 1997), “Jet Lag” (2LP, 1997) recorded in Chicago, “Slowburner” (CD, 1999) with collaboration from Coti K., and “Exit: Trance” (2003) recorded with Steve Albini in France. Evi Fraggedaki left the band shortly before the release of their last album. Bokomolech performed live at notable events, including 'Rock Of Gods' in 1996 and 'Rockwave Festival' in 199
