Bonnie Guitar was an American singer, musician, producer, and businesswoman, born on March 25, 1923, in Seattle, Washington. She was married from 1944 to 1955 and was the mother of Alexys Guitar. Bonnie co-founded the record label Dolphin, which was later renamed. She is best known for her 1957 country-pop crossover hit "Dark Moon," making her one of the first female country music singers to achieve hits that crossed over from the country charts to the pop charts. In recognition of her contributions to music, she was inducted into the Western Swing Society Hall of Fame in 2013. Bonnie Guitar passed away on January 13, 2019, in Soap Lake, Washington.
