Boogie Monsters was an American rap group formed in the Bronx, New York, consisting of rappers Mondo McCann, Vex Da Vortex (Sean Pollard), and Jamaican-born brothers Myntric (Sean Myers) and Yodared (Ivor "Al" Myers). Vex and Mondo met Yodared and Myntric while attending Virginia State University, where they began performing at campus shows. After winning first place at Howard University's renowned Hip-Hop Convention, the group recorded a demo and started promoting it in New York. They were signed by Pendulum/EMI, which released their debut album, "Riders of the Storm: The Underwater Album," in 1994.
