Bootsy's Rubber Band is a P.Funk band formed in 1976, led by bass player Bootsy Collins. The band features his brother Catfish Collins on guitar, Frank Waddy on drums, and the Horny Horns, along with vocalists Gary "Mudbone" Cooper and Robert "P.Nut" Johnson. The original keyboard player, Frederick Allen, was replaced by Joel "Razor" Johnson in 1977. Leslyn Bailey was the only female vocalist but left the band shortly after their first release, "Strechin' Out." With the support of George Clinton, Bootsy's Rubber Band released four LPs for Warner Brothers between 1976 and 1979, along with two 12" singles in 1982 and 1990. In 1994, Bootsy recreated the band under the name Bootsy's New Rubber Band, featuring many original members.
