Boutaïba Seghir, born Mohamed Affif on June 4, 1945, in Chaabat El Leham, Wilaya of Aïn Témouchent, Algeria, is a renowned Raï singer. He released his first single, "Chetek El Bérah," in 1963 at the age of 18. His breakthrough came in 1968 with the hit single "El Caoucaou." Seghir is recognized as one of the pioneers of modern Raï music, alongside Cheikh Beloumou.
