Boy Dap, born on October 25, 1933, in Willemstad (Otrobanda), Curaçao, was a renowned composer and artist, known for his work "Tata di Tumba." He was born into a musical family; his mother, Carmen Rosalina, played the tambourine, while his father, Johannes Dap, a well-known saxophonist, also played drums, clarinet, piano, and flute. Johannes rehearsed at home with his Bright Star Band, introducing Boy Dap to jazz at a very early age. He passed away on November 2, 2021, and was buried at the Bethania cemetery in Brievengat.
