Boygenius is a musical collaboration formed by Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker. The trio came together after booking a tour, but their connection had been developing long before that. Through various tours, performances, and chance encounters, including Bridgers’ and Dacus’ first meeting backstage at a Philadelphia festival, they formed a strong bond. Their friendship deepened through comfortable greenroom hangouts, long email exchanges, and even a secret handshake between Baker and Dacus. As lyrically and musically arresting singer-songwriters, they are kindred spirits who have come together on their own terms.
