Bryan “Braille” Winchester is a prolific hip-hop artist from Portland, Oregon, known for his deeply personal and relatable lyrics. With 13 albums as a vocalist and numerous projects as a producer, engineer, and A&R, he has made a significant impact on the genre, particularly during the early 2000s. Braille's work includes collaborations with notable artists such as Lecrae, Kings Kaleidoscope, Jackie Hill Perry, !llmind, and 9th Wonder, as well as performances alongside legendary figures like James Brown and De La Soul. His debut album, “Lifefirst: Half the Battle,” was released in 1999, marking the beginning of a career dedicated to expressing thoughts and emotions through music. As a member of the groups Lightheaded and Beautiful Eulogy, Braille has explored various soundscapes while maintaining a focus on themes of perseverance and faith. In 2025, he is set to release the “Kept Safe Collection,” a compilation that showcases over 20 years of his work and aims to connect with both new and longtime fans. Currently residing in Milwaukie, OR, with his wife Deva and their three children, Braille has also dedicated the last seven years to serving as a pastor at Saving Grace Church.
