Breakbot is the alias of French electro producer and DJ Thibaut Berland, born in 1981. He studied graphic design at Supinfocom, a computer graphics university, where he began making music and directing short films. One of his films, “Overtime with Oury Atlan and Damien Ferrié,” won "Best Graduate Film" at the Ottawa International Animation Festival in 2005 and the "Young Animation Award" at the Internationales Trickfilmfestival Stuttgart in 2006. After university, Berland produced advertisements and videos while continuing to work on his music projects. Breakbot gained recognition in 2006 with a remix of Justice's "Let There Be Light," featured on the Waters of Nazareth EP in Japan. He made his production debut in 2007 with the Happy Rabbit EP on the Klee label and established himself as a sought-after remixer for artists like Digitalism, Sebastien Tellier, and Röyksopp. In May 2009, Breakbot signed with Ed Banger Records and released the Baby I'm Yours EP in 2010. In 2015, he announced that Breakbot had officially become a duo with collaborator Irfane, and their album "Still Waters" was released on February 5, 2016.
