Brian Blade is an American jazz drummer, composer, singer/songwriter, and session musician born on July 25, 1970, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He initially began playing the violin but shifted his focus to the drums, inspired by his older brother, Brady Blade, Jr. Blade studied and performed with many master musicians in New Orleans. He has collaborated with numerous notable artists throughout his career.
