The Brian Jonestown Massacre is an American musical outfit formed in San Francisco in 1990, led by frontman Anton Newcombe. Initially, their music was characterized by a shoegaze style, but following the release of their debut album, Methodrone, the group expanded their sound to encompass a broader range of psychedelic rock. They incorporated various styles, including garage rock, folk rock, and later, electronica, while continuing to experiment with their musical direction.
