Brigitte Fontaine is a French avant-garde music singer, as well as a novelist, playwright, poet, and actress. Born in 1939 in Morlaix, Brittany, she has explored a variety of unusual musical styles throughout her career, including rock and roll, folk, free jazz, electronica, spoken word poetry, and world rhythms. Fontaine has collaborated with several celebrated musicians.
