The Brothers Johnson is an American soul/funk/jazz/disco band formed in 1975 in Los Angeles, California. The group was led by brothers and initially included their cousin. They began their careers as backing musicians for artists such as and before pursuing their own path under the guidance of producer, who helped them gain prominence by featuring them on his album " (1975). The Brothers Johnson recorded eight albums between 1976 and 1988 and are best known for their disco hit "" (1980) and their cover of the classic "" (1977).
