Bruce Ruffin is a Jamaican reggae and rocksteady singer, composer, and producer, born on February 17, 1952, in St. Catherine, Jamaica. He began his career as a singer before joining a band in 1967. Ruffin left the band in 1968 to pursue a successful solo career, particularly during the reggae-pop era of the early 1970s. By the 1980s, he shifted his focus to writing and publishing. Eventually, he moved away from music to study law and became a legal consultant for other reggae artists.
