Bubbha Thomas was a jazz drummer and bandleader from Houston, Texas. He served as a session drummer for the Duke and Peacock labels, contributing to recordings by notable artists such as O.V. Wright, Buddy Ace, and the Mighty Clouds of Joy during the 1960s. In the 1970s, he led his band, the Lightmen, and founded the Summer Jazz Workshop. Thomas passed away in March 2020.
