Buck Meek is a folk musician known for his role as the guitarist and backing vocalist of the band Big Thief. He was born and raised in Wimberly, Texas, where he began playing guitar in his youth. During his teenage years, he performed blues, manouche jazz, and western swing in various bars and dance halls across Texas. After moving to Brooklyn, he self-released two EPs as a solo artist: "Live from a Volcano" in 2013 and "Heart Was Beat" in 2015. It was during this time that he connected with Adrianne Lenker, with whom he initially performed as a duo before forming Big Thief. In May 2018, Buck released his debut self-titled album through Keeled Scales. Later that year, he moved to Los Angeles, where he wrote most of the material for his next record. His second solo LP, "Two Saviors," was released in January 2020. In August 2023, he signed with 4AD and released his third full-length album, "Haunted Mountain."
