The Buckinghams are an American pop rock band that formed in 1965 in Chicago, Illinois. Initially starting as a garage R&B combo, the band later incorporated a strong horn sound. They achieved their greatest success with the #1 hit "Kind Of A Drag," which began to gain national attention in the final weeks of 1966. In 1967, the Buckinghams had five top 20 singles on the Billboard charts, but their popularity declined sharply the following year. The band disbanded in 1970 but reformed in 1980. The original lineup included lead guitar and vocals, bass, keyboards, drums (Jon-Jon), Curtis Bachman (vocals), and another vocalist. Bachman left after the release of the band's first single. Another musician briefly replaced Miccolis on keyboards before being succeeded by a member of the band in early 1967.
