Buddy Emmons was an American guitarist born on January 27, 1937, in Mishawaka, Indiana. He was inducted into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 1981. Emmons was a versatile musician, playing the pedal steel guitar, lap steel guitar, guitar, dobro, and bass guitar. He also worked as an arranger, producer, engineer, and composer. While he primarily performed on the road, he recorded extensively when not traveling with other artists. Emmons passed away on July 21, 2015, in Hermitage, Tennessee.
