Buddy Miles was an American rock and funk drummer and multi-instrumentalist, born on September 5, 1947, in Omaha, Nebraska. He passed away on February 26, 2008, at the age of 60 in Austin, Texas. Miles was a prominent session musician and worked as a sideman in the Dick Clark Revue from 1963 to 1964. He collaborated with Wilson Pickett from 1965 to 1966 and was a member of Michael Bloomfield's Electric Flag in 1967. He also played in Jimi Hendrix's Band of Gypsys from 1969 to 1970. Additionally, Miles was the voice of The California Raisins, the claymation TV ad characters.
