Burd Ellen is a solo project led by Debbie Armour, known for her work with Alasdair Roberts, Green Ribbons, and Alex Rex. The project features contributions from Gayle Brogan of Pefkin and Barrett’s Dottled Beauty, as well as Lucy Duncan. Burd Ellen utilizes traditional songs to delve into dark landscapes and rich narratives. With innovative instrumentation, drone, and sound-wash, the project supports intricate vocal performances, creating a distinctive sonic atmosphere.
