Busi Mhlongo was a South African singer, dancer, and composer born in Inanda, Natal on 28 October 1947. She passed away on 15 June 2010. Mhlongo drew on various South African styles, including mbaqanga, maskanda, marabi, and traditional Zulu music, while also incorporating contemporary elements from jazz, funk, rock, gospel, rap, opera, reggae, and West African music.
