Buzzy Linhart was an American musician, composer, and actor born in Pittsburgh on March 3, 1943. He passed away on February 13, 2020, in Berkeley, California. From a young age, Linhart was passionate about music and theater, starting his musical journey as a drummer before expanding his skills to include the vibraphone, marimba, guitar, harmonica, and piano. Known for his exceptional mallet skills, he became a vibraphone virtuoso early in his career. Linhart gained experience by backing notable artists, including Greenwich Village figure Fred Neil. In late 1968, he recorded his first solo album in London, which was released the following year. Throughout his career, he continued to release solo albums and participated in session work for other artists, primarily showcasing his vibraphone talents.
