Byron Lee and the Dragonaires is a Jamaican ska, calypso, mas, and soca band formed around 1950 by Byron Lee and his friend. They are one of the best-known and most successful Jamaican groups of all time. The band gained international recognition after being selected to perform in the 1962 James Bond film Dr. No. Their hit "Dance Hall Soca," recorded with Admiral Bailey, is credited with starting the ragga-soca craze of the late 1990s.
