Cal Tjader was an American Latin jazz musician, artist, and composer, born on July 16, 1925, in St. Louis, Missouri. He worked from the 1950s until his death on May 5, 1982, in Manila, Philippines. Tjader was best known for his exceptional skills on the vibraphone, but he was also accomplished on drums and bongos.
