Camille Feruzi was born in 1912 in Stanleyville, now known as Kisangani, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He taught himself to play the accordion at a young age, inspired by his father, and practiced secretly while his father was at work. At the age of 15, he moved to Leopoldville, but it wasn't until ten years later that he began his music career. He formed a musical group with a saxophonist and clarinet player from Guadeloupe, featuring his accordion alongside the sax, clarinet, piano, and guitar. The ensemble performed in bars and at private dances. Camille Feruzi passed away around April 24, 1990.
